1:87 Chemical trailer train (MAN) Scholven-Chemie 1969-1994
This combination breathes the aura of WIKING! This is because this time, the model makers of the traditional chemical trailer have taken it upon themselves to simultaneously combine the transport trailer with the double silo superstructure. Complementing it with a contemporary MAN tractor unit makes this model in the colours of the Gelsenkirchen-based Scholven-Chemie authentic and appealing. WIKING once came across the original in Hamburg. This is where tanker and silo specialists Cobalt constructed the silo trailer for cement and other transported goods. Cobalt originally manufactured the chemical trailer train with two containers of V2A steel. Each silo had a capacity of 9.5 cubic metres, with a factory-designated payload of 19 tonnes. The handling of the transported goods could be propelled by a compressed air emptying system. The petrochemical site took its name from the Scholven district of Gelsenkirchen. From then on, everyone knew that mineral oil stood behind the company Scholven – the Cobalt trailer combination also counting among the transporters of the distinct forwarder.
