Prototype:
RailAdventure GmbH from Munich is a rail service provider for special tasks. These include test and transfer runs, towing of rolling stock, and workshop test runs, as well as the necessary organization and support for railroad operators.
RailAdventure has an extensive and specialized fleet of vehicles for these tasks.
In addition to protection and coupling cars, RailAdventure also owns numerous traction units. Due to the very successful and striking color scheme, the vehicles are well known and also very popular with model railroaders.
We will offer this locomotive of the BR 139 558-1 together with Piko as a special model.
Model:
The E10/E40 series serves as the basis for our BR 139. This successful PIKO model was first delivered in 2016 and impresses with free-standing grab irons and filigree pantographs in an attractive implementation of the prototype.
The modern high-performance buffers, scale rail clearers, and the prototypical design of the fans and roof hoods were taken into account for this molded version.
In addition, the digitally switchable cab lighting is installed as standard.
The five-pole PIKO motor, which drives all four axles, provides excellent running characteristics with its two large flywheel masses and current collection via eight wheels. To ensure high tractive effort, the compact model has, in addition to the zinc die-cast frame, two traction tires that sit on the inside running axles of both bogies in a diagonal arrangement to each other.
The model features all PIKO standards, including a PluX22 interface, white/red light change, and close coupler kinematics.
