Novelty 2021: With the glass train, PIKO is putting another piece of railroad nostalgia on the tracks. The glass car body allows views of the interior, including figures already installed at the factory. Interior lighting installed ex works illuminates the passengers. Also illuminated is the driver´s desk. The light changes with the direction of travel alternating red/white. For operation in Austria, an SBS 65 single-arm pantograph was attached to the original in 1976. The Era IV model also reproduces this special feature. The rest of the roof equipment is reproduced coherently with various roof lines and insulators. A powerful Bühler motor gives the glass one from PIKO sufficient tractive power. For optimal power supply, two additional rail sliders are attached. The digital version is already factory equipped with decoder and sound. A special feature is the digitally controllable pantograph. For the analog version, all these functions can be retrofitted.
