The articulated wagon known as TWIN I was the answer from wagon rental company AAE to the question of the greatest possible flexibility in combined cargo transport. The 34 m long wagons can accommodate 40 and 20 foot containers, but also cranable semi-trailers. Thanks to the particularly deep-drawn tubs, the six-axle vehicles are even suitable for loading with modern mega-trailers, in contrast to the previous designs. To fix the semi-trailers, the wagons have support frames at the ends. These remain on the car even if the next tour takes place with containers. The support beams for container transport are also always on board and are stored above the middle bogie when not in use. Compared to the disc-braked versions, the block-braked car has a payload that is three tons higher. The maximum permitted speed is 120 when empty and 100 km / h when loaded, regardless of the route class. The wagons are also used mixed with other types of combined cargo transport. The doors of the containers can be opened and reveal the detailed interior.
