This floor model is a replica of the British Jagdpanzer Archer. During the Second World War British troops realised that the 2-pounder and 6-pounder guns were outdated by the German armour, so the planners decided to come up with a powerful 17-pounder gun, equivalent to 76.2mm.
The vehicle on which the gun was to be mounted was the Valentin. The turret of the vehicle was occupied by a combat compartment, which was designated as an archer. Due to limited development time, the gun had to be mounted facing rearwards. Because of this, the bow gunner always fired in the opposite direction.
