Die brasilianische Azul ist bekannt für ihre zahlreichen Sonderbemalungen. Mit Indienststellung von PR-AKO mit der Lackierung in Landesfarben trägt nunmehr je ein Flugzeug jeder Teilflotte (A330, A321, Embraer E195 und eben diese ATR-72) die brasilianische Flagge in alle Welt hinaus. Inzwischen setzt Azul nicht weniger als 39 Exemplare der ATR-72 auf dem dichten Inlandsstreckennetz in dem größten Flächenstaat Südamerikas ein.
